Wisconsin Golden Gloves

Bringing Wisconsin boxing to the national stage

Golden Gloves is a highly esteemed and nationally recognized amateur boxing tournament sanctioned by USA Boxing, the governing body for Olympic-style amateur boxing in the U.S. Each year since 1923, champions from local and regional tournaments around the country advance to compete in the National Golden Gloves. As of 2023, the National Golden Gloves Tournament is an Olympic Trials Qualifier.

Wisconsin has a rich history with the National Golden Gloves tournament and has produced 19 national champions over the years. In 2018, the Bob Lynch Boxing Foundation was awarded and proudly accepted the Wisconsin Golden Gloves franchise, and hosted the state tournament in Madison in 2019.

The yearly state tournament has gained an enthusiastic following and keeps gaining momentum!

Help turn dreams into reality

Each year, up to 10 male and 10 female elite level champions from our state tournament have a chance to advance to the national tournament, held in a different city and state each year. Supported by two coaches, two officials, and two drivers, we create a close-knit team environment by travelling, staying, training, eating, and celebrating together.

We cover all expenses for these young athletes so they can focus on competing and having the experience of a lifetime. This often costs as much $18,000 each year, provided almost entirely through donations and sponsorships.

Please consider a generous, tax-deductible donation to support our boxers! This sport is not for everyone, but those drawn to it often find personal growth in self-discipline, respect for self and others, and developing critical life skills. Boxing takes dedication, and though its demands our athletes develop the confidence and perseverance to harness their potential and success in other areas of their lives.
